At present on view at ACA Galleries in Chelsea, “PHASE 2: Fantasy Conception…” traces the event of the late visionary stylemaster’s distinct aesthetic from 1972 by means of 2019. Among the many artist’s wide-ranging works included on this massively complete survey are: PHASE 2‘s hip-hop flyers, IGTimes graphics, various works on paper, embossed aluminum plates and tantalizing sculptures — along with his works on canvas and plywood.

A primary technology author and hip-hop pioneer, PHASE 2 developed into an astonishingly revolutionary modern artist, blurring the strains between model writing, city artwork and tremendous artwork. Intricate and immensely intriguing, the works that he created within the final decade of his life exude a distinctly esoteric magnificence.

“Don 101,” the picture pictured above, was rendered again in 2008 with with ink marker on IGTimes, vol.4. What follows are a number of of PHASE 2‘s later works on canvas and plywood — all elegantly displayed at ACA Galleries.
